Patrick Harrigan, pictured above, arrived in Broxburn after completing a years study at the Pontifical Beda College, Rome. He was assigned to our two parishes for the past 4 weeks as a pastoral placement. He returns to Rome and leaves our parishes this week to continue with his studies. He has left us with these thoughts about prayer.

We send him our best wishes for the future in his studies.

Teach Us to Pray

Among the many questions we could ask about ‘prayer’, perhaps the three most important are:-

1. What is it?

2. Why do we do it?

3. What difference does it make?

All three of them are related, of course, and it would take a life time to exhaust all there is to say and to experience about prayer, of course! Still, just because we can’t say everything about prayer, doesn’t mean we can’t say anything about it!
